February Brings Red to the Porch
A little red birdhouse brings cheer to
Heart wall art we made for our porch We are especially fond of this wall art we made a few years ago. Dave designed the heart cut-outs in his woodworking shop and I lined them with red felt.

Valentine basket on the front door This basket started out plain white, but with a little creativity and a coat of vibrant red spray paint, it became the perfect accent for our Valentine’s porch. To add a cozy touch, we nestled a red and white striped tea towel inside, letting its folds spill over the edges. Then we wove in a delicate pink floral vine, for a whimsical, seasonal display. Do you like it? We love that the basket could be re-painted in other seasonal colors.

From Tracing the Path Podcast - 187 Years Behind Martin Luther King's Dream
Do you know where the words in the "I have a dream" speech come from? Our son Dan has an awesome podcast that will tell you the story. W.E.B. Dubois, Abraham Lincoln, A. Philip Randolph, Langston Hughes, Mahalia Jackson, Thomas Dorsey, Harry Belafonte, Prathia Hall Wynn, John D. Rockefeller, and so many others have been fighting for the Dream since 1776. When Martin Luther King gave his speech in Washington, he made sure their voices were heard. We are happy to share Dan's Tracing the Path podcast with you!
