Welcome to Front Porch Appeal!
March is here, bringing the first hints of spring. The days are stretching longer, the breeze carries a promise of warmth, and soon, our porches will be the perfect spot to watch the world wake up.
Whether you're simply dreaming of spring, prepping flower boxes, dusting off the rocking chairs, or just soaking in the fresh air, this month is all about welcoming this season of renewal. Let’s celebrate the simple joys of porch life together.
And....to be real....I've been down with a cold and back spasms. I'm getting better for sure. I hope you've been well! Thank you, friend.

We’re incredibly grateful for you, and let's cheer each other on as we step into spring. May you feel optimistic and peaceful.
March Brings Joyful Color
to Our Porches

All ready for springtime!

We painted the pillow toppers and the wall art. Do you enjoy making your own decorations? It can be quite satisfying.

Painting forsythias for spring is quite easy. You don't need to be an accomplished artist - not at all. Just a few simple swipes of yellow with an orange dot in the center.
Add some little leaves and branches.
We love painting on fabric using acrylic paints. Just protect your surface beneath the fabric in case any paint goes to the other side.
I promise it's a fun, satisfying project. And it may last you for a couple of seasons, too.
And shhhh....we didn't do any sewing. We just folded our fabric around our pillow and then pinned it. Honestly it works and makes changing out for the seasons so much easier.
And maybe you have some old clothing that could be used for fabric. Think big t-shirts or men's button down shirts. Or old sheets. Really anything. Even clothing with a subtle pattern can be painted.

Please enjoy our video about decorating with forsythias!
St. Patricks Day on the Porch

St. Patrick’s Day is the perfect excuse to add a little charm to your porch.
A festive wreath, a pop of green in your decor, or even a cozy spot to sip an Irish coffee can bring a touch of luck and cheer to your outdoor space.
If you’re feeling extra festive, string up some twinkle lights or set out a pot of clovers to welcome spring with a bit of Irish spirit.
However you celebrate, may your porch be a place of good company and even better conversations!

One year I had purchased some pretty shamrock fabric. I made a pillow cover from each piece and had enough left over to cut out a shamrock applique to dress up the pillows.

Porch Sitting
In Unpredictable Weather
March weather can be a little unpredictable, to say the least. Those chilly mornings, sudden rain showers, and breezy evenings make porch time a bit of an adventure (or maybe challenge).
But with a few cozy additions and clever tricks, you can enjoy your outdoor space no matter what the forecast brings.
Chilly Mornings? Keep a basket of soft blankets nearby for those brisk mornings when the air is crisp but the birds are singing. A warm drink, like spiced tea or a frothy latte, makes it even better. Consider adding an outdoor rug to keep your feet warm and a small space heater.
Rainy Afternoons? A covered porch or even a large umbrella can provide just enough protection to enjoy the soothing sound of raindrops. Add waterproof cushions or a rocking chair with a cozy throw to curl up with a book while the rain sets the perfect backdrop.
Breezy Evenings? Windy nights can be peaceful with the right setup. A wind-blocking curtain and a comfy seat
make for a perfect place to unwind. Weighted tablecloths or heavier decor items will help keep things in place. A cup of chamomile tea or a light throw blanket can make a big difference in comfort.
Let's enjoy our porches.
