Elegant Christmas Decorating Ideas from The Rusty Heart

Each year, Denise and Audra try to create something different and unique. For Christmas they decorate with rustic elements to create a porch that begs you to stop by!

The different pines used in the garland and swags give the porch texture and a cozy feel. Denise and Audra added berries to the garland to give a splash of color and create warmth. Notice how the light bounces off the garland and red berries.

The burlap bows add a rustic element and are used to create warmth and a whimsical touch. See how their burgundy red bows complement their home nicely.

Denise and Audra layer the different pieces beautifully with the door as the focal point - being in the center.

They do so by using various heights. Some of the decorations are propped up on little stools, and of course, they put the tallest things in the background. It is pleasing to the eye for each side to be balanced, but not so much that it looks staged.

They vary each side's decor to give some character and interest to the porch. And to bring it all together, they incorporate simple, elegant, and very plush wreaths on the door and windows.

The crimson poinsettias are such a Christmas staple they add loads of color. They look real but are the type that can be used year after year. Smart idea.

The sleighs and little mini trees add a sweet touch of charm, and bring the ambiance of Christmas to the porch!

The lanterns are a timeless way to add luminescence and give a warm glow. Denise uses battery-operated candles to illuminate the lanterns. Adding burlap ribbon and evergreen foliage adds a simple elegant touch.
