Welcome, dear friends, to Front Porch Appeal, our newsletter.
You know it's spring when you see sweet little spring chicks.
Dave remembers the kids in his elementary school class being given a chick to take home in the spring.
Nowadays, that probably wouldn't be a thing, but this was in a small town in the 60's and he remembers it fondly.
Hopefully all the chicks survived!
Where we live, spring is shouting from the tree tops.
From the magnolia trees blooming with those amazing tulip-like flowers to traces of redbuds in our next-door woods, it's undeniable: spring is here.
We hope this newsletter finds you safe and well.
Our heartfelt thoughts to those of you suffering from storm damages in your area.
Here in the south, we've had our share of storms this spring already.
Easter Blessings to You and Yours

If you celebrate Easter, do you have fond memories of coloring eggs for Easter? We sure do.
I remember the smell of vinegar my mom would put into the cup with the dye.
As a kid, I didn't love that part but now I know that vinegar helps the dye to stick to the egg.
Moving the egg around in the dye until it became brightly colored was fun!
Those traditions, those family traditions make pleasant long-lasting memories.
My mom had a candy dish that was divided into sections.
On Easter Sunday morning she would have it on our kitchen table and as if by magic, it would be filled with foil-covered chocolate eggs and jelly beans.

Holly's home before she got her new front porch
Even without a porch, Holly's home is quite lovely. The landscaping is gorgeous.
Holly says she grew up with a porch and so it was time to get a porch. They have lived in their home for 28 years, making her dream porch long overdue.
Holly's home with her new front porch
What a fantastic, spacious porch with plenty of room for relaxing, reading, entertaining.
She will enjoy her porch for years to come!
She will be adding the landscape plantings back and we cannot wait to see!
Please take a look at more in-progress photos of Holly's new porch.

A Porch with a Storm Shelter?
Can you believe there's a storm shelter on that porch?
Already this year, far too many lives and homes have been lost in violent storms and tornados.
But what if you don't have a basement, storm shelter or safe place to go when tornados pop up near you?
We learned about this idea, think of having a storm shelter as part of your porch or deck.
We think it's an idea worth exploring.
Out and About

Around here we're seeing the gorgeous magnolia tulip trees in bloom.
Gosh, it's even a treat to drive to the grocery store because between here and there is the most amazing line-up of spring delight - deeply yellow forsythias, pure white dogwood trees, gorgeous redbuds.

Not far down the road from where we live is this sweet lane lined with Bradford pear trees.
This time of the year, when they are in full bloom, it's a magical sight to drive by.
Every year without fail we take a picture of these magnolia flowers in bloom next to the forsythia. Never disappoints.
Dave and I enjoy walks to our nearby lake and we love noticing what's in bloom.
This adorable cottage home loves to celebrate holidays.
Always something festive to see when we walk by and right now is this cute bunny.
In the background are small, twinkling pink lights and Easter eggs hang from the branches, too.
So happy to have neighbors who celebrate like this!
Thank You As Always
