I painted these rocks with the craft paint we already had on hand. Dave put a coat of polyurethane on them to (hopefully) preserve them from the weather. What can you paint on a rock? Anything - flowers, butterflies, lady bugs, polka dots, sunshine and clouds, really anything. Even a monogram or rainbow - or a quilt pattern or favorite food like strawberries. Maybe something that person really enjoys. We haven't had these rocks in our garden long enough to know if the polyurethane will keep the paint from chipping. But they are sure to be a welome gift and could sit on your covered porch too. #3: Picnics Are Always in StyleGrowing up with our boys, our picnics were simple as we would usually combine them with a hike. Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches - sometimes chicken salad - along with carrot sticks, graham crackers and grapes.Your picnics are probably more sophisticated, but no matter what, a picnic is a loving way to spend time and make good memories. #4: A Welcoming Gift to Keep Toddlers HappyWe hadn't seen a horse swing like this before, but isn't it fun? Knowing how much our young grandchildren loved the wooden rocking horse that Dave made for them, we know little ones would also love a swing like this. And guess what - it can be used indoors or out. #5: A Give That Transcends TimeA custom portrait of your homeOur friend, Leisa Collins, is an artist who specializes in painting memorable portraits of people's homes.
