Sharing Our Christmas Porch with YouThis year our Christmas porch has a "boxwood" wreath theme that we carried out in the wall art we created and the pillow toppers. A bit closer-up. We have our fireplace out which gives our porch a nice cozy feeling. For a festive look, we wrapped several empty boxes with sturdy brown kraft paper. But first, Dave put weights into the bottom box so that the boxes would not blow away. We used packing tape to gift wrap the boxes. Then we used bright red ribbon to tie the three boxes together and made a bow for the top. Beneath the boxes, you can see greenery - which is fresh greenery we got for free from Christmas tree trimmings. We had a few bright red ornaments to add and some osage apples (hedge apples) that we collected in the woods. They add a beautiful highlight - pop of color - to our package display. We made our own wall art. The "boxwood" wreaths are made from a greenery swag that we snipped into pieces. Dave cut masonite circles for the wreath base and I wrapped red ribbon around it. Then we tucked in the snips of greenery all around the circle, using the red ribbon to tuck it. The wreaths surely resembles fresh boxwood wreaths. We created some boxwood art for our front door too. Simple, farmhouse style. The wreath was made the same as for the wall art. The background is simply masonite painted white with a few colorful red stripes. Up close look at the Christmas pillow toppers we made to reflect the wall art. Painted upon a square of painters drop cloth, I used acrylic paints to paint this cute pillow cover. We have seen that this is a "thing" to layer door mats. Funny but we've been doing this for a long time without realizing it was fashionable. Lastly, our snowman family sits in our porch garden. How cute these will be when we get some real snow here in Tennessee. Let's hope for at least a dusting. Did you see our snowman porch from last year? Admittedly, it was very very cute!
