Five generations of her family have lived here so she feels a true connection to her family here. 
Anita's mountain home and lovely wraparound porchAnita's charming, rustic home is in the mountains in a most lovely wooded area that anyone would love to call "home sweet home".Her home is not large so her outdoor rooms add such breathing room for her family, especially in the summer. Anita says all the rock you see is from their property. Even the plantings are from their woods.

Her porch overlooks their creek that she played in as a child. Anita says she is very grateful for this property that her parents generously gave to her. She wouldn't trade it for anything! Now that is a loving heart. 
Anita and her husband, Luis, do most everything themselves around their home by combining their loves. He loves architecture and woodworking whereas Anita loves restoring furniture, decorating, sewing and entertaining. She shares her loves on her blog, Whispering Pines Homestead. 
Simply put, together they enjoy making an amazing home for their family. And the results speak for themselves.

In Anita's real life, she is a vocalist / pianist, wife and mom. She began playing piano at the age of 3 and has loved music all her life. She has played in the Band of the US Air Force Reserve and the US Air Force Band in Washington DC. There she played for many dignitaries and traveled throughout the world. Her background is rich in culture and musical talent. Decorating is her hobby (a serious hobby she admits).
